Ooh, it's just the first week and it's already difficult. Maybe I do this bi-weekly? Or once per month? Coming up with ideas on what to type is pretty difficult, let alone typing it with both magic and hooves! How do you humans even do this?
It's pretty hard to come up with an idea on what to post, so why not explain my adventures on coming off from Equestria to Earth? It would be a nice second post :]
If you don't know, I'll give you a heads up. Dimension portals are a doozy. If you easily get motion sickness, I'd recommend bringing a paper bag before going in one of these!
So! Hopping off the portal, it was a weird sight to see real humans and ponies interacting with one another. I know that there are some humans in Equus as sort of a "test run", checking if the magical aura of our world has any negative side-effects. Yes! We do know what you humans looked like before the portals were opened, but it's only through posters.
I thought I didn't have much when I arrived. I wasn't really a "hoarder" so my bags contains just some framed pictures, necessary sanitary equipments, and some bits and gems. But apparently these gold bits and gems are worth much more here? A bit converts to roughly five hundred dollars, yet one bit would get you an apple in Equus. And these "rare gems"? Very common, these are often used to store magic or spells for non-unicorns to use. They're so common that most of them usually become decorations until they're used, or get eaten by dragons for snacks!
Ha! Talk about culture shock.
Anyhow, we were quickly guided to a bus and got toured around the city. Humans really have an advantage when it comes to buildings! Tall skyscrapers as far as the eye can see, I think there are buildings that surpassed Canterlot when it comes to elevation, and I thought it's pretty high up on that mountain! And the designs of those buildings, we were shocked when we were told the designs on Equus were similar to Earth... decades ago! Still makes me wonder about what more similarities Equus have with Earth (and how "outdated" some are, ouch!)
We then got to our last stop, the central park. And I want to talk about something.
We ponies are generally herbivores - though the pegasi have gotten used to eating a little bit of fish meat throughout the years. There's even a couple fish stores in Canterlot, so we have gotten used to that, even if it's just a bit. You'll never see restaurants that cater to griffons or dragon on cities, or towns that generally have pony population.
So, picture this. Ponies of various kinds getting off a tour bus, in a busy park, near food vendors.
Meat food vendors. Hotdogs, hamburgers, you name it.
Still, we wanted to be polite. We smiled at the friendly humans eating, waved, and slowly walked backwards. Thankfully there was a lone potato-fries vendor, those got swarmed by some ponies immediately (Including yours truly - who knew potatoes can get this delicious! I'd still take hay-fries any day though.)
After that, everypony went on their way. Some went and got in touch with both their pony and human friends. Others went and wandered around the city. I was feeling a bit tired so I went to my apartment. Thank Celestia I was able to rent one, there were so many ponies back at that "Phone Centre" that it took hours until it was my turn!
(Oh, and I want to say. Thank you humans for inventing elevators! I'm having a bit of trouble with the height of the buttons, but it's way better than having to walk up eight floors! It was a pain in the flank back in Equus!)
The apartment I was able to rent was an average one, well, I think. Apartments here are slightly bigger than the ones on Equus, but I think it's just because of the size difference. There's the same old small kitchen, living space, two bedrooms, bathroom, and a nice balcony! We also got this "smart phone", sent by the department that managed the immigration of Equus residents. It came included with a stylus, since apparently smart phones and hooves do not combine well.
There were lots of reports of hooves cracking the screens.
And... yeah! That's how my first day went. I didn't know how to use a smart phone so I just tucked mine away in a drawer. I went and ate alfalfa mixed in with hay, and then went to sleep. It's still a day I can't forget because of how different everything was! Earth is such an amazing world and I'm still learning more about it even now. I'm still homesick for Equus, but I'm still happy being on Earth :]
Hopefully that was an interesting read. Have a beautiful day everyone! ^_^ /)
